One Family: An Ethiopian Adoption
One Family: An Ethiopian Adoption is the story of one child and one family set against
the backdrop of an AIDS/HIV epidemic that has left approximately one million orphans
in that country. The film follows an American couple as they travel to Ethiopia
and, despite the differences of race, language and class, form a bond with their
new daughter and her extended family.
Children need parents. Unfortunately the realities of poverty often prevent orphans
from being cared for within their own country. International adoption can be a moment
of hope and a chance for people from different cultures to connect and weave together
a family out of their combined love for a child.

Reviews:
"One Family: An Ethiopian Adoption captures the
essence of older-child inter-country adoption. Where before there were separate
parts, a new family now stands. The filmmakers have a light touch, yet their story
is true and moving."

YOU: One Woman's Odyssey to Rescue Africa's Children
“One Family: An Ethiopian Adoption is a must see if you are adopting from Ethiopia.
You will get a good feel for Ethiopia and the emotions of older child adoption.
This film is also an excellent spring board for conversation about adoption with
your child.”
